Thanks for repeating that because it helped verify in my own mind a question about who said the following, transcribed verbatim from WWJ moments ago:
I think this year was a unique year with the pandemic. And I think we made a lot of changes and a lot of adjustments on the fly. I think it's time to pause and take a real good look at the election process because we as leaders and as lawmakers owe it to the Americans to provide full, fair, transparent elections with the utmost of integrity.
Thanks to EastsideAl, now I know that was Lisa McClain.

What caught my ear was that she referred to voters as "the Americans," not "the citizens" or "our constituents" or simply "the voters." It was as if she were viewing voters as distinct from citizens of another country, as if her perspective were from outside the country.

That just sounded really odd to me, like some Freudian slip.

These ‘whataboutism’ arguments are moronic oladub.

The circumstances of George Floyd’s death are clearly different than Ashli Babbitt’s. It makes zero sense to compare them as apples to apples just because law enforcement was involved in both. It is about as logical as deciding what to do about terrorists overseas committed to killing Americans anyway they can based on what happened in Chile in the late 1940s. Useless, stupid, lacking any logic and pointless.

Although too, little too late, twitter bans Trump's account permanently. They should also do the same to his kids accounts, especially jr's.

I disagree as I pointed out in posts 1016, 1038, AND 1044. No point in repeating them. My premise, is that all crimes, no matter who commits them or how they want to fancy themselves should be treated the same way. We apparently disagree.

About 20:17 when the young police officer's mask/helmet is smashed in his face and called a fucker. The rioters then proceed to "heave-ho" their way in. ALL the blame is on Trump, all of it!

Nancy says that Trump is mentally unstable and that's bad because he has a nuclear football. Yet, she wants to humiliate him with another impeachment. If she really believed Trump was crazy, it probably is not a good idea to taunt, provoke and humiliate him. I mean, If you came across a crazy guy waving a gun, would it be a good idea to throw stones at him? All that you and Nancy are going to possibly get is a few days less of Trump but at the cost of provoking what you say is a crazy man with a nuclear football. Who sounds crazy now? I think its a good idea to weigh risk before doing something really stupid.

My suggestion is that the House get right on legislation to produce more Covid vaccines faster that could be passed on January 20th. by the House, Senate and Biden. I'd be with you on that. Last year, the House was too busy with the other impeachment to do that. This week, the House passed some rules to eliminate sexist words like "mother" and 'father" in its own paperwork. If you would rather spend the next week and a half prodding Trump even though you think he's a crazy man with big bombs, I guess its your show.

I have to agree that the best thing to do is de-escalate. Take the high road. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 4100 people died yesterday from the virus. I’m sure this whole debacle is probably going to up the numbers a bit.
We need to get on with the business at hand. We’re kind of heading into some dire straits rapidly and I think we better keep our eye on the ball.
I think Donnie got the point. When he delivered that speech stating he was going to abide by the transition, reading his body language I’d have to assume someone explained something to him in no uncertain terms.

But I do think if people keep pounding on him it’s just going to rile his minions.

One irony is that those who are now being locked up for this insurrection were likely among those shouting "Lock her up" [[referring to Clinton and Whitmer) at Trump rallies.

This joker is going to try and pardon himself for any crime that he may have committed while in office. If he thought he could get Pence to do it, he would probably resign the day before the Inauguration, but that ship done sailed now that he nearly got Pence and his family killed. Also, his last two tweets on his Real Donald J Trump acct were basically dog whistles to his mob that he wants them to act that day. Just telling them that he won't be at the Inauguration is a call to action. Laying off of him now is not an option. He should be somewhere that he can't communicate with the outside world

Must-See New Video Shows Capitol Riot Was Way Worse Than We Thought
It is entirely possible that there were people in that crowd, looking to apprehend, possibly harm, and possibly murder the leaders of the political class that the President, and people like Mo Brooks, and even to a certain extent Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley, have told them have betrayed them.

Simon & Schuster have decided not to publish a book written by Sen Hawley of MO because of the events of Weds. Hawley came out with a Tweet calling this positively "Orwellian". A savvy librarian responded with "No, it's not. Orwell got published"

Psychoanalyst: Trump Is “Delusional Psychopath” Who Needs To Be Removed Immediately
Dr. Lance Dodes joins Lawrence O’Donnell to discuss Trump’s mental state as he’s banned from Twitter and why he will get worse once he leaves office and faces legal jeopardy: “The more desperate he becomes, the more delusional he is, the more he needs to prove to himself ultimately that he is still a god, so the less power he has, the more stress he’s under, the more dangerous he is.”

A lot of people, myself included, have said that he's delusional and a sociopath for years now. This isn't news. What's news is that it was allowed to go on so long with no intervention from ANYONE; family, White House aids, Congress, etc. Now at the end of his "reign" it's being acknowledged

Agreed. Corporations, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, and Yahoo, have been shutting down their comment sections and freedom of speech. DetroitYes went against the tide. [[Hurray!) I wonder though if Richard was wished into the cornfield.

I was wondering whether the Lansing event was a dress rehearsal for the Washington event.

Also, I was wondering whether this amateurish Washington event was meant to serve as a distraction from some other professional political operation. E.g., Senator Merkley reported a stolen laptop. I'm sure there were more. It would have been an ideal setting to execute something like a planned Watergate-style plumbers operation.

They really need to neutralize Trump before the next page is turned in the playbook.

Freedom of speech only applies to the government; Twitter, FB, Insta, and even DetroitYes do not have to abide by it. When you sign up with ANY corporate or private chat type board, you first have to agree with their rules of behaviour. Only then do they allow you to put your handle on their board and let you post. If you break the rules, you usually get suspended, which I know Lowell has been known to do, just like Twitter is doing now. You get warned, suspended and then banned. That is what happened to Trump. Has nothing to do with freedom of speech. Also can't yell fire in a crowded theater

Not yet lol as much as many wish.

I like opposition with the theory behind it being an attempt to understand how and why others think and form opinions as they do.

When one forms their counter opinion based on a personal attack, spelling or attacking links verses what they contain it shows they are trying to regulate others thoughts.

That is why this country works,is because we are all able to think for ourselves and form our own opinions without being forced to think a certain way.

If one cannot have a heated discussion with somebody or not agree with everything they say or do,then turn around and sit down and have a beer with them we become a singular mindset.

Outside of the socialist commies I would like to believe the majority of us are like that, life is to short.

Look at it this way,if we want to spice it up a bit outside of the realm of politics,we can always open a thread about religion.

Nothing that is going on today is unprecedented in the history of the country.

Well, outside of the massive voter fraud, but then again it may have always been there and we just did not know about it.

People are forgetting that the mantra in the 1970s was actually literally blowing up federal buildings verse occupying them or even burning them like now.

There was also sit ins where people would occupy a building for weeks on end in order to get their point across,so this whole drama going on is not like it has never happened before.

It does not matter what it applies to or who it applies to,there are bad elements in every aspect of life just as there are bad elements in politics on all sides,if we are going to group everybody into an inclusive category then we accomplish nothing and set the trend of applying that across the board in all aspects.

I think this time I will try and be the better person and just ignore the personal attacks and just view them as that is all they have to offer.

Until this whole internet liability thing gets resolved,we as posters have somewhat of a responsibility to choose our words carefully and how we act accordingly,I have always viewed it as a tremendous service to the community and can only imagine the amount of work and headache that goes behind it to make it happen.

So if some want to take their frustrations out on me,no problem, tomorrow is another day,new drama will arise and this country is now controlled by a foreign entity anyways, who sits in the whitehouse is kinda irrelevant at this point, what they decide to do about it will be the defining moment.
