And I think we made a lot of changes and a lot of adjustments on the fly. I think it's time to pause and take a real good look at the election process because we as leaders and as lawmakers owe it to the Americans to provide full, fair, transparent elections with the utmost of integrity.
What caught my ear was that she referred to voters as "the Americans," not "the citizens" or "our constituents" or simply "the voters." It was as if she were viewing voters as distinct from citizens of another country, as if her perspective were from outside the country.
That just sounded really odd to me, like some Freudian slip.
