Two of the leading authorities on large scale Garage design in United States were based in Detroit. One architect is obvious, Albert Kahn. The other architect is somewhat surprising, Robert O. Derrick. In one of the oddest pairings I have come across in my research Kahn and Derrick would team up to design the building below.

What church is the first photo? I know the second photo is Our Lady of Help as my parents were married there in 1948 and myself and siblings were baptized there as well. The photo is of the church shortly after it was first built in 1866-1867. Over the years the building was altered.

As much as I love old buildings, I have always found the Women's City Club to be quite unattractive. It just doesn't work for me for some reason.
