One of several two family houses designed and built by Kuni in the area. All were designed to look like a single family dwelling.
This subdivision is very similar to many of subdivisions developed in the late 1920's in Detroit. A handful of model houses were built then the depression and WWII interrupted development. After WWII there was an explosion of houses built to accommodate the post war boom.

I hope you don't mind the comment: it's apparent this structure has been "remuddled", but sometimes you stretch the meaning of "talent", such as here.I recently was given multiple sets of blueprints from a former City of Detroit architect Walter E Moritz Jr. Sorting through the various sets I found the plans for this house rolled up in a set of plans for the 10th Precinct Police Station.
Designed by Walter E Moritz Jr. for John Hardy. 17301 Beaverland built in 1955 Oak Grove Neighborhood, Detroit, MI. Includesa page featuring the east and west elevations for the house from a set of the original plans.
Not saying it's not interesting, though.
And I love your thread in general. I look forward to it!
The house is surprisingly unmolested and sits on a terrific lot, butting up to Grand Lawn Cemetery. I would highly recommend seeing this house in person. Also one must take the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to Detroit's fabulous architecture.
