My retirement job from the DPD was security chief at a local hospital here in Las Vegas...ran into him several times when he'd come in to visit an agent or a colleague of some kind. He was always a pleasant delight, would stop and chat with just about anyone who came by. Very unassuming; quite unlike most Hollywood types. RIP, Jerry, and thanks.
my favorite!
I grew up watching his MD Telethons. He had the energy of ten men to do those!
Jerry Lewis [[RIP) met the mother of his 6 sons [[first wife) in 1944 at the Downtown Theatre [[formerly the Oriental, later the Downtown RKO)... This theatre was on W. Adams just west of Park Ave. The 2,950 seat theatre was too far off the beaten path to be successful, and was razed in 1951. It's lobby chandeliers are today in the Redford Theatre. And although the auditorium was razed [[3rd building west of Park Ave.), the building housing the lobby entrance is still in existance 2nd building west of Park Ave.
