Like much of Detroit, the Eastside was devastated from the seventies to the end of the century.  Today the winds of change are blowing warmer. Excellent new housing is being built in large numbers while remaining high quality vintage houses combined with numerous canals, riverfront parks and proximity to downtown make this area very attractive to the bold and able.
