Moorish influenced design was adapted in a number of apartments
in the once affluent suburb of Highland Park.

Two
miles north of the New Center, the suburb of Highland Park sprang
up around the Ford Model T Plant after it was built in 1909.
The
process of suburbanization represented by Highland Park would
be oft replicated. Today the Detroit metropolis is comprised
of over 80 contiguous cities sprawled over hundreds of square
miles.
