THE UNITED ARTIST BUILDING
What
is to become of the United Artist Building? With the Statler Hotel, that
once stood across from it, recently demolished and the
Tuller Hotel, that once stood adjacent to it, long gone does it have a date with
the wrecking ball? At its base, the United Artist movie theater, which was
once an outstanding member of the great movie palaces of downtown Detroit, rots
away while its landmark marquee was removed as part of the clean up campaign for
the 2006 Super Bowl.
