This city is so backward. I doubt anything will happen with it. The city would rather spend $11m building a glass shed to house a discarded streetcar at the foot of Caron Ave by the waterfront rather than turn this place back into a much needed downtown farmer's market which could also house said streetcar like the Covent Garden Market in downtown London Ontario. The 90,000 sq. ft building was originally built as the Martin Marketorium in 1929 to house a giant food market. In 1944, it was repurposed to house the HMCS Hunter that later left downtown for Sandwich west.
