You would think the last thing to open in Windsor would be another Italian restaurant. It's like downtown Detroit opening another hamburger place.
Detroit's got an Italian Bistro, too. So, what.

Windsor lost much of its charm when its casino arrived.
Fifty years ago, I lived three minutes' drive from the tunnel. I often had brunch in an Italian sidewalk cafe on Riverside Dr. just west of Oulette. The Windsor casino killed many nice businesses, just as the casino interests ruined Greektown.
The building that housed the old Plunkett's bar and grill across the street from the abandoned Greyhound bus depot has been bought by developers who plan to replace the stucco facade to brick and renovate the first floor into a bistro.
What is happening with Little Italy on Erie Street? Is the Sorrento café still there? It was a favorite coffeehouse of ours. Decades ago, before there were coffee houses everywhere that was about the only place I want to get a cappuccino.
