Well, Mayberry is populated by toothless meth addicts, and Jesus freaks nowadays. And the sherriff and his deputy run numbers games and head up the local anti-govrnment militia.
And Aunt Bea is turning tricks to help pay for cigarrettes.
Welcome to Mayberry.
I don't think we disagree so much on some of these issues except that you put more of a party label on them while I tend to point out the frequent collusion between these two parties. The Nuremburg defense simply will not work for Democrats or Republicans. Democrats blaming Republicans for wars, Patriot Acts, attacks on privacy or Republicans blaming Democrats for big spending and illegal immigration simply will not work because both parties vote for and condone these things. They even blame each other for NAFTA and the WTO. A problem with blaming one party for all our woes is that it ignores the larger problem and therefore give it cover allowing these problems to grow.Yes, but his evil policies live on.
You assume I'm a supporter of this? Why? Just because the Bush Crime Family was responsible for setting up the disaster, doesn't mean I'm not disappointed in Obama for continuing it. I think he's in error for not ending all of the expanded Imperial Presidential powers brought to the office by Tush.
Unfortunately, once powers are granted, they rarely go away. Rethuglicans should have thought of this when they set up the evil system in the first place.
Our hope at getting on top of some of this is in party dissidents who challege their own parties. For instance, tea party participants who jeer Republicans off the stage for having voted for Bush's Wall Street bailout of Democrat activist Naomi Wolf decrying President Obama's retaining his Bush given power to lock up citizens without a trial. Naomi does not allow for a Nuremburg defense.

The FBI that erroneously accosted this turkish businessman...is this the same FBI, under the same government that liberals intend to hand over the keys to 1/6th of the economy via health care? Brilliant idea...NOT.
Isn't this the same government that protects our country....This is serious disconnect: our FBI is in the government that just changes parties every so often..but on a whole does a good job...I am sure Obama didn't say hey let's accost a Turk today. Liberal and FBI what strange bed fellows..but I like it..maybe now they can follow their conscious more freely.
Uh, when did I say this incident happened? It was two years ago. Who was "president" two years ago. George Tush III.
And the gentleman in question is a British citizen, Turkish by birth, raised and educated in Britain, accent and all. Even your understanding of the issue is colored by bigotry.

I know that, I also know that GWB, acting as a liberal, and with a liberal legislature, has done some damage to our liberty as well. Far less than Obama of course, and it is he, and his cronies, to whom it is proposed to turn health care over.
Bear in mind that other failing entitlements continued their malignant course through at least 7 Republican administrations. Started by??? [[hint, think not republicans).
Hoover started us all on the slippery slope to socialism? Really?
You really need to take a civics course, apparently, beause there have only been six Republican administrations since FDR.
And why do you suppose those six presidents were all apostate [[in your view)?
The Looney Tunes right has spoken.I know that, I also know that GWB, acting as a liberal, and with a liberal legislature, has done some damage to our liberty as well. Far less than Obama of course, and it is he, and his cronies, to whom it is proposed to turn health care over.

Now GWB was a liberal? LOL!!!!!
What do you do for an encore?
FDR was probably secretly Kenyan and a Muslim terrorist? LOL!!!
He unfortunately had some liberal policies...immigration, environmental [[in later years), and ENTITLEMENT SPENDING as the worst offence.
ENTITLEMENT SPENDING: one of several new buzz words used by right wing buffoons to shift the focus away from their failed programs which were the root cause of this current financial crisis.
New buzz word? I have been using it for years...is that new?
Right....and Al Gore invented the internet.
1st, gore never said he invented the internet, he WAS instrumental in creating it, a subtlety of language lost on most people. it was HIS 1988 National High Perfomance Computer Act that linked universities and libraries in a single network, it was the 1992 Information Infrastructure and Technology Act co-sponsored by Gore that opened that network to commercial use
Exact Gore quote,
“During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.”
sure
during - throughout the duration of
my - first person posessive
service - the act of serving
in the united states congress - I will assume you understand these
I - first person pronoun
took - enterred into the duties of
initiative - the right to start legislative action
in - a prepositional function word to indicate purpose
creating - bringing about through a course of action
the internet - I will assume you understand these
in other words, gore, while a senator, brough about via legislative action things central to the emergence of the internet as we know it. all of which is born out through the history mentioned previously.
As I said before, create is NOT synonymous with invent
btw, Bats, every one of those definitions is a real definition available in M-W
Legislation is needed to allow a private enterprise to flourish? It would not have if not for said legislation? Ridiculous.
I anticipate seeing an incredible number of Obama masks this coming Halloween.
Any publicity is good publicity.
I'll give an extra candy bar to each one of those kids.
BOO!-atcha.
He is the POTUS...publicity isn't an issue for him.
"Private enterprise"? You seem to have forgotten--or never knew--that the original ARPNET was in fact a joint military venture with various research universities who were working on government programs.
There was no "private enterprise" about it.
