^ and stuck right in the thick of it is Detroit Mayor Duggan, normally the chain of command is mayor to governor, governor to the Feds But I would not be surprised if he has his own little direct line about now.

First of 75 cases of N95 masks came in today. 200 per box I believe.

[[This one is still wet from my wife having sprayed it with Lysol).

Headed out to donate them to the hospital system in a few minutes. Another box should be arriving later to a different address I have.

Duggan says April 8th as the peak of Detroit cases is probably optimistic.
Says feds have figured out they "Do need to be the leader of the supply chain for America"
He's going to do daily press conferences at 3pm if they have information.

They have found an "Abbott" lab test that is almost automatic, takes 15 minutes and signed a contract on it. Great news!

    Good on you!

I don't think people understand how stressful it is to work in the hospital and not have the proper PPE [[Having to reuse equipment not meant to be reused). You worry constantly about getting exposed and bringing it back to your family.

So thank you again for your kindness.

The propaganda machine hard at work, even down our market is still up over 6% long term,France spent the summers in protest after protest,Italy was down, the UK was down if our economy had not been as strong as it was,we would be in deep dark waters really fast.

Americans will do any kind of work but not necessarily for illegal non-citizen [[illegal alien) caste wages. That might be changing now for Americans who can make more money collecting unemployment plus $600/week and $1,200 for whatever. Why would anyone want to work at Amazon for $15/hour or get a factory job making masks as long as it is more profitable to collect helicopter money? With projections of up to 30% unemployment, it is a bad idea to be hiring cheaper illegal foreign labor to replace Americans. The total cost of hiring an illegal non-citizen plus the cost of keeping the Americans he/she replaced on unemployment is generally higher than the cost of paying more money to hire an Americans. Of course, the employer who profits from cheaper foreign labor is not bothered by having taxpayers pay unemployment. Its a matter of private profits and publicly subsidized social costs. In effect, taxpayers are required to subsidize the profits of cheating employers.

Interesting about crime. I can see an uptick of patrols in my neighborhood. Its helpful that most officers are patrolling alone and not in pairs right now.

Duggan is the kind of leader you need in a crisis. Direct, diligent, and sharp. I was impressed with his first news conference, and him going at the testing problem so quickly.

The local media is tip-toeing around the main issue with hospital capacity - none of the West Michigan hospitals are excepting Covid-19 patients. Most say no to any patients and a few said yes to other types of patients. You wonder if they will change, or if Lansing can get the votes to make them change. Funny thing is a patient could just go to that West MI hospital and they can't send them away.

Not sure why the experts keep referring to the conditions like a war zone,it is serious but nothing even close to a war zone,

Default Battle Brewing for Your $1,200Government Relief Check

Helen Keller said, “When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long as the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.”

Visa and MasterCard aren't staring at the closed door. There running to the open window.

Visa Inc. and Mastercard Inc. are lobbying the Treasury Department to be included in the options the agency uses to disburse funds, as are smaller firms PayPal Holdings Inc. and Square Inc. Their argument is if the government is looking to get money quickly and safely to families across the country, it needs to get with the 21st century.

Getting picked for the program would be a boon for payment companies, which often levy fees each time money is sent on their networks. The firms have been battered by the slowdown in consumer spending as governments around the world ordered people to stay home and businesses to shut.

That’s crazy, people are registered with the IRS and will get direct deposit,if not or do not send them the info now,the check will be in the mail.

For no cost or fees, they are trying to force fees on people unnecessarily.

IRS direct deposit like they have been doing for no fees is not 21st century?

They are really saying, where’s our bailout?

^^^ I'm good. I have a checking account which I know they have access to from DD's in the past. But for those who don't I'm thinking a Visa/ Master card fund draw card is good.

One of my temp agencies I worked for part-time one summer paid me like that.

Our state is the same way, close down the casinos because to many people in one spot, but keep the state run lottery operating so people can be standing in close quarters.

Nice way of eliminating the competition.

Yea a war zone hospital is pretty graphic and nothing compared to what is happening now even down to operating under the constant threats of bombs and missiles, not saying they are not operating under dire circumstances but also not even close to a war zone conditions.
