I can't read the article because it's behind the paywall, but did you think WF would keep their prices the same forever? As for tax incentives, I think the money was worth it, if it helped attract developers to build nearby. Whether it did help attract them, I don't know.Pay Up Suckers - now you'll have to support the store with real money
Whole Foods is raising prices
https://www.wsj.com/articles/higher-...d=hp_lead_pos2
Prime promotions were the top reason 1,168 shoppers surveyed
by data firm Numerator last fall - gave for visiting Whole Foods more often.
Remember when Michigan taxpayers emptied out the lint and coins
from their pockets, coats, gloves and purses ?
Subsidizing Whole Foods - oh yeah with public tax money
The 21,000-square-foot project to get $1.5 million
in local and community foundation funds,
$1.2 million in federal tax credits under the New Market program
and $1.5 million in state incentives.
A guy making $127 mil a day shouldn't be getting any incentives, IMO.
Putting up a grocery is one thing, ever hear of IGA ?
Creating one with the highest price in the heart of a no-where-land,
and then having them jack up the prices even more so,
despite being incentivized , seems like a kick to the crotch
Med school students with EXTRA money for specialized foods, ....Wow

Did The Detroit Whole Food Store Conquer ?
Oh yes they did. Whole Foods is packed with customers every day and their small parking lot gets filled up every minute.
No more going to those Chaldean owned neighborhood supermarket where they serve mystery meats.

Ever hear of Halal ?
It is mentioned in a Hadith that the prayer of a person
is rejected by Allah if the food consumed is prohibited
Muslims care a great deal about the Wonderfulness of what they eat
^^^ Of course. However, if we're discussing Chaldeans they are not usually Muslim, and don't abide by the same Islamic prohibitions [[Halal).
I do like Whole Foods buffet items [[so long as I don't think to long about the germ factor associated with buffets). I here [[from reviews) that the one in Farmington Hills [[on Orchard Lake) has gone down considerably.

Some people really have their head in the sand, like worms.

If Whole Foods is the epitome of HEALTH, we're all doomed
the Food and Drug Administration sent a stern warning letter to Whole Foods Market, a longtime champion of fresh and healthy foods, saying that the company had failed to address a long list of food safety issues at its food processing plant North Atlantic Kitchen.
Want some mystery in your food..........................
Sales of prepared foods in groceries increased 10.4 percent
from 2006 to 2014 and continues as people get lazy in their home kitchens
High price - does - not - equal high quality food
