With a development like this, the Wigle Park should be maintained as a park instead of being converted to residential. The park is not only a park but a play field where baseball/softball, football, and basketball can be played. Although the recreation center is long gone, this park could still serve as a gathering spot for the recreational activities I mentioned above as well as a picnic/barbecue area. Skateboarders also use the site where the basketball court used to stand. It is only one of two large parks/play fields in Midtown. It would be a shame to lose it as new residential development and the re-purposing of the school come on line.
