As a SW Detroit resident I feel like this is the most exciting news to happen in our neck of the woods in decades. Not only is this beautiful building getting saved, but the redevelopment will likely spread out enough to completely connect SW and Corktown.

I am very curious now to see what Ford's plans are next week. I am especially interested in what's going to happen with the train bridge behind the building. I'm hoping Ford is going to invest in fixing that up even though they don't own it. I'm also hoping this means someone [[maybe the City) will be working on cleaning up some of the blight and the dilapidated roads on the far side of the tracks. I can't imagine Ford building out a nice new campus in the area and having all that immediately adjacent.
