From a local article:
The prefab home will be delivered fully assembled with energy-efficient features. Upon hearing the news, Shu, director of the Avalon Village, jumped out of her chair, yelling “Oh my God!” as she turned around to see a picture of the home. Grinning ear to ear, she wrapped her hands around Degeneres to give her a hug.
Shu [[whose legal name is Shamayim Harris) has raised nearly $250,000 through a Kickstarter campaign to develop the sustainable eco-village between Woodward and Second. The community will include urban gardens, a marketplace for women entrepreneurs, sports fields, stores operating from shipping containers and a Homework House for students.
In a video, Shu said the Homework House is the “most important addition to the village” that will include a computer lab, library, laundry room and kitchen for kids to cook from when they come home from school.
