Personally, I could give a flying riiiip what you want to care about or not. I only mention the Houston situation as a footnote [[and forgive me for locking some current events in for posterity on DY) to the other situations involving a spree of brash smash and grab robberies tat occurred.

Yet, I was wrong, the shooting was not connected to these thingshttp://www.chron.com/houston/article...de-7953256.php. While folks had plenty of television updates laying out "lax security concerns" for the busy Memorial Day travel, the shooting in Houston was grossly under reported in print and broadcast as it pertained to something more closer to home in origin. Sad, that it involved a traumatized vet who was a huge rabid xenophobic Trump supporter who hated gays, Jews [[which may've been his first victim), Muslims, and oddly enough, WalMarthttp://www.thenewcivilrightsmovement...st_homosexuals. He was involved in militia groups and had a high-powered AR-15 assault rifle as he pumped over 200 rounds at cops and bystanders. Sad that he felt he was "protecting Christians" from a collapsing nation by doing this. A "second shooter" was reported to be someone armed attempting to take him out, but he ended up getting wounded himself [[thus showing the argument that "having a gun situation would've stopped this" or some kind of Ben Carson BS doesn't work).

So, yeah, footnote in short: had nothing to do with robberies. Yet, it went underreported either because of the nature of he man and his beliefs [[and I just had a talk with a vet at my work yesterday who told me some very disturbing things about what he has seen personally done to his fellow soldiers by his own government.) or that it made for bad news to report it on Memorial Day. I'm just glad there was a boyscout on hand to aid in one of the woundedhttp://thelibertarianrepublic.com/co...-media-silent/.

So, no one should feel obligated to care about anything. Most Americans don't when the news isn't spraying it all up in sparkly, easy-to-digest hype. So, you are not alone.
