Much of the complaint from Detroit Greenways seems to be around the Grand Prix section of the island which has gotten tremendous upgrades. Some complaints seem valid and some suggestions seem pretty good. But I'm not quite sure about the focus on sidewalks.
I haven't been to Belle Isle since it became a state park, but I've never really noticed pedestrians walking on the sidewalk on the left side of Sunset Drive. Most of the time I would just see people in the bike lane even when there was a sidewalk. Anyone here a frequent jogger or cyclist around Belle Isle that thinks this is as big a deal as Greenways is making it seem? Is traffic such a concern that people feel unsafe on the street?
