Just saw this article and couldn't believe my eyes. Hope the renovation actually occurs, never thought I would see this building get renovated!
and to think that it wasn't that long ago that it looked like both the metropolitan and wurlitzer were going to meet the wrecking ball. the momentum continues to build!
'Bout time! I wonder how things are progressing with the Wurlitzer?
That is great news. What a buildup of projects for Detroit. These buildings will be invested by residents and to me this is a bigger bang than hosting businesses.
Now this is some fantastic news to hear. I can't wait to see the renderings on it. You'd also think that's gonna be a heck of a view facing downtown, with whatever development happens on the Hudson's site as well.
YAY! Thank-you Dan Gilbert! for saving the Metropolitan Building.
Dan Gilbert isn't saving the Metropolitan. Completely different group according to the article.
I am still waiting for Bham1982 to tell us it will fail, along with Hudson's redevelopment, the M1 rail, utility replacement, the Statler Apartments, and Rock Fiber. Oh, and the Wurlitzer Bldg.

It appears work has begun on the Metropolitan Building. Check another one on the list.
