It is Beaconsfield St. Starts from Grosse Pointe Park to Detroit, Harper Woods, Eastpointe, St Clair Shores, Roseville, and it ends on 15 Mile Rd. in Clinton TWP.
Here's another one.
It also starts and stops probably a dozen times, begins in front of a downtown federal building a block south one of the radial avenues and ends behind a Meijer store and passes through Detroit and two of it's suburbs.

OK, I'll take a swipe at this one, John R?
No such street exists, based on your description.
The below link shows all of the Federal Agencies that are in Detroit and their addresses [[mostly downtown).

But which street did you have in mind?

Here's another hint: this street is several blocks north of Fort Street. No such street exists, based on your description.

You are correct with one of these streets.
Howard Street begins at the McNamara Building and continues through southwest Detroit, Lincoln Park and Southgate before ending at Leroy Street behind the Southgate Meijer store.
Abbott also goes through Lincoln Park, but ends at Brest Street before it enters Southgate as well, presumably because James Street already exists in it's place in Southgate.

Haha. I was thinking Howard as well but I got stopped while still in Detroit. I gave up too soon.
Interesting. It stops for so long between Delray and Lincoln Park that I never would have figured it was the same street. You are correct with one of these streets.

Then again, Lafayette Blvd. is similar to Howard Street in that regard.
Lee-vair-nwah'? [Livernois]
Hah! This thread is sorta fun. I just went into some online maps to try to find some clues to no avail though. Drats!
Time for another, I guess.
This one has a number and once was one, continuous street until the freeways went in.
My dads auto repair shop was at Harper and Beaconsfield, it was "Windy's Safety Service".
