As boring as it sounds it's probably best to take them to Cheli's or another good hockey bar like Andrew's On The Corner for dinner and after the game hit the casino and do the coney challenge at Lafayette and American. Showing people from Chicago architecture in Detroit would be like taking people from Southern California to Belle Isle's Beach. I know it doesn't make much sense logistically because they are staying within walking distance but out of towners get a kick out of riding over to The Joe in one of the bus shuttle services provided by a place like Andrew's. People get rowdy and have fun on those things.
