I don't see why someone that has no clue of Detroit's city limits should even consider running for mayor. If he honestly thinks that Palmer Woods is not Detroit then he doesn't have a clue to begin with. Palmer Woods doesn't even border the city limits and lies south of 8 Mile along Woodward and 7 Mile but yet it's not Detroit. This is where it's ok to laugh at someone with that stupidity level.

Oh he knows where it is. His point was that Palmer Woods is too nice to be "real Detroit."

Look, the first time I ventured to Detroit, it was honestly to satisfy my morbid curiosity. All I had ever known of Detroit, as a Texan-turned-Chicagoan, was from ruin porn photos. So I get here while I'm visiting Ann Arbor for a UM game and imagine my surprise that, "Hey, there are some nice things about this city!" And the more times I visited, the more I liked it. So the narrative that all of Detroit is shitty burned out buildings [[to the point that nice areas actually in Detroit are no longer considered Detroit) is not one that I'd like my next mayor to adopt. Shame on Benny for that.

Palmer Woods experience far different than average Detroiter’s
From Benny's twitter account. I'll agree that the wealthiest of Detroiters do not have to deal with some stuff that other Detroiters do, mainly the security issue. But they do still put up with a lot of the same crap. And anyways, you must recognize that your city is all of its inhabitants. There's no such thing as an "average Detroiter."
