    I didn't see where he has a permit? It sounds like he could not speak properly, could not drive and just "picked up" the gun in the house. Somebody else being careless with their gun, which is why just a background check for the buyer is not sufficient, OR there need to be strict laws for criminal penalties for those who allow an ineligible person access to a gun which he or she uses to harm someone.

    A gun was recovered at the scene. The suspect has a concealed pistol license, police said.
