This is what happens when clueless morons purchase a significant historic dwelling! We loose a Yamasaki design. A couple doors away is Alexander Girard's home which has been altered beyond recognition.

For Patrick the entrance to Emory Ford's estate an image from Burton Historic Collection Detroit Public Library.
I’d have to say out of all the extant homes in GP, the massive Tudor edifice on McKinley and Grosse Pointe Boulevard is my favorite. It’s the residence on the southwest side and was just on the market…may still be on the market. It was designed by Chittenden and Kotting in 1912-ish and the only reason I know that is because I came across a rare ad for windows or plumbing from an architectural magazine from around that time.

What is history of the above mansion?

Thx for the info Patrick I have been trying to find out the background on the home for awhile. My grandparents made an offer on the home when it was for sale in the late 40's. If you have a copy of the ad could you send it along on here? Do you remember which publication it was featured in?I’d have to say out of all the extant homes in GP, the massive Tudor edifice on McKinley and Grosse Pointe Boulevard is my favorite.
