Don't know if I can help, but I do know that Halfway is now called Eastpointe. It was called Halfway because it was half the distance between Detroit and Port Huron. [[which doesn't seem correct but that's what 'they' say)
I think it was named Halfway due to being half way between Downtown Detroit and Mt. Clemens.
