Cars being Towed in Downtown Detroit

[Occurrence]

One of my cousins owe an old parking ticket and got an official notice on beige paper signed off by City of Detroit 'Legal Councel'.... pay the ticket or license to be suspended and car booted.

Most people respond and pay, but those who do not...? Well there's gonna be a large inventory of confiscated cars in the Detroit car impound lots of those who just throw in the towel and forfeit it all and do not pay the fees and the original towing ticket price.

I got one of those mailed to me last week and I didn't even know I had a ticket issued to me. How am I suppose to pay a ticket if I never received one?

When I called and said that, they said it's not their problem. I told them if I really do have a ticket that I didn't know about, I will pay the ticket right now, but I'm not paying the $50 in late fees. They said "you can't do that". So I told them to go F themselves, and I tossed their legal department statement in the trash.
