What will become of the BCBS building[[s) just off of 696?
I assume they'll be put on the tax rolls and rented out. May even be a good thing for Southfield to get some tax revenue from that complex.
Certainly the location is ugly sprawltopia, but it's really the best location in Southfield, and about as central as you can get on a regional level.
According to an April 25th article in Crains the 688,000 square foot property is listed at $13.8 million.

A representative for the owner, BCBS, says they have 3 offers and a 4th on the way and will make counter offers. At $13.8 million that would be an asking price of about $20 per square foot. That is equal to what annual RENT is for office space in other areas.
Brings some reality to what the Detroit area office market is today.
