A 2008 smart fortwo convertible, red and black. I took delivery in Jan 2008. 1700 miles. This was the 14th smart car delivered in this part of the country, and is the first registered in Detroit. I rarely drive a car as I usually ride bicycles, motorcycles [[mostly Triumphs) and motorscooters.

I was going to say something like 'a bunch of cars that someone like Angry Dad wouldn't drive' but since AD has a Lotus, I will at least mention my Fiat Spider.

the 90s Elans don't get much respect. I think they're not terribly good-looking [[though they are period) but I like them anyway.

2002 Chevy Malibu. I personally want to thank GM and Dexcool for affording me the privilege of replacing the intake manifold gasket twice, both times to the tune of nearly $1000.

But remember, WHAT YOU DRIVE DRIVES AMERICA WHHARRRRGAARRRBBBLLLL!!!

I'm almost afraid to admit what car we bought last August on here. We had an Olds that kept killing the wallet and it finally hit us once too often while we were out of state...it almost bankrupted us trying to keep it going...sooo...we [[gulp) bought a 2003 Jetta...and it's great. Reminds me of my 88 Nova. BUT...before you tar and feather me, I still have my first car - 1969 Buick Skylark that they will have to bury me in before I let go of it.

I reside far enough away from Detroit that my 2003 Kia Rio does not get sidelong glances too often. Getting upwards of 30mpg and still have 25,000 and 3 yrs to go on the 100,000 warranty. I needed a dependable puddle-jumper for minimal cost, and in 2003, this rice-burner was it.

Rio still prob'ly won't last as long as my 1989 Chevy Beretta, which I sold to a neighbor for a winter ride in 2006 with 120,000 miles on it. He gave it a satellite radio and fancy wheels, and drove it for more than two years before he sold it to the junkyard, not because it wasn't running anymore, but because it was finally too rusty. Not bad for a low-end budget-mobile.

My other current vehicle is a 1998 Dodge Dakota Sport we bought new and now has about 150,000 miles on it and is just now beginning to look old. Relatively reliable, even though the air conditioner doesn't cool anymore.

Next car is not anywhere in the thought train. Husband lost his automotive-related job last December and I should know by the end of next week if I will have a job after June. I guess we shoulda kept our 1992 Dodge B-250 conversion van. It was a POS which is why we sold it in 2001 but in hindsight, if we'd kept it, we could walk away from our mortgage and have a place to live come July 2009. I'm kidding. Well, half.
