Does anyone know if they sell Blue Plate Mayonnaise up there or do I need to bring multiple cases with me? I'm kind of afraid it's a southern only thing.

You would actually travel with your own Mayonnaise?
Do we have a culinair section in the forum??
No idea if anyone in the Detroit carries Blue Plate Mayonnaise.
But since you can order it online, why transport cases of it with you?
You can order directly from them:

Or from other sites like these:
http://www.totallynawlins.com/blueplate.html
http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Plate-May.../dp/B002ZOPTYQ
Or since Walmart stores carry it [[http://www.walmart.com/ip/Blue-Plate...naise/13424595), maybe you can order it through a Detroit Walmart store.
for lunch this afternoon I'm gonna deepfry me a salad, slather it white with mayo, ... mmm that's some fine eating.
What's so special about this mayo?
I'm the same way with a certain type of mustard I like to buy. Sometimes even if I'm not hungry I'll have a ham sandwich just so I can have some mustard. It's that good.
Nope, you're stuck with Hellmann's or Kraft up in these parts.
When I take a road trip, I bring my own water, coffee beans, and espresso machine. It takes up little space, and I'm guaranteed a little bit of expected comfort, even in a Motel 6 room!
