Anyone know what they were were filming yesterday around 6pm? Looked pretty facinating.

I heard they are filming part of Harold and Kumar 3 in town. Perhaps it was something to do with that.
Yup, I read in an article that Harold and Kumar is currently being filmed so that's probably it. I'm pretty excited, the first 2 were hilarious.
That neighborhood is in my tour area. On Saturday, a couple of the folks on my tour wanted to know what was going on. The Dalgleish Sales and Service lot was set up to look like a Christmas tree sales lot. There was a huge inflatable Santa [[or was it a snowman)? At any rate, it looked pretty funny. For some reason, I thought it was some twisted "Christmas in July" sale. Later, I noticed workers hanging Christmas decorations from the light poles. I knew it couldn't have been just a Christmas in July sale. DOH!
Detroit is new Hollywood of the Midwest. Lot's of great movies to be made here.
So Christmas stuff and a White Castle. I would definitely say "A Harold & Kumar Christmas" was filming there. It is supposedly being filmed in 3D which I find a little weird for a comedy.
Yeah, I saw the X-mas tree lot and asusmed it was part of the filming taking place down the street.
Back in the early 80's was the last time that 3-D movies were in vogue. I can remember seeing several comedies in 3-D. If you go to Disney World or Land/California you will be able to see comedies in 3-D, mainly "Its tough to be a Bug"

I met Kal Penn at a party. He's really cool and loves finding the real underground shit in the city. He said hes living in the city for three months while they film. A couple weeks ago they were over in the market on Gratiot filming.
I'm super pumped that MY White Castle is being featured in Harold and Kumar: Christmas!!!! Makes me want to go there. I remember when the first movie came out White Castle's sales were boosted by something like 30%. LOL.
This is no vogue movement, 'Planner. Not by a long shot.
They are shooting sports in 3d, and will experiment showing big games in theaters for a while before anyone decides to actually invest in 3dTVs. Some folks are finally getting around to tasting HDTV!
I'm pissed at my industry because it seems that once people finally agree to buy into the next new thing...they move the goals again and induce some serious pre-buyer's remorse.
So yeah, expect EVERYTHING from Hellywood to be 3d, they want to etch their worldview into your synapses directly!
Cheers
I'm with you, LD.
Porn, though, has ALWAYS been the earliest adopter of new video technology...the first to, shall we say, EXPLOIT the potential out of it.
