We plan to be there as well. It is a blast, and a great way to see the city. The participants, organizers, lead riders, police escorts and everyone else are wonderful.

I advise riders to be in fairly good shape. When I rode in 2007 I was still recovering from a humerus fracture. My average speed was about 10 MPH, which was not fast enough to keep up with the pack. Police escorts cannot spread themselves out too much, so the pack must stay together. It would be a challenge if you can't maintain a 12 MPH average.
