When I am not being a Colbert Conservative, I teach non-credit classes to adults for a living. My first history read was James Loewen's Lies My Teachers Told Me. Then I discovered Howard.

I have used Zinn's admonition that "all history is taught with a bias." The bias is found by what the teller includes and excludes and is further heightened by what the teller emphasizes and de-emphasizes. Zinn's works and those of Ronald Takaki are great reads... full of important and largely unknown information.

Combined with the information on framing by George Lakoff, I can be pretty effective on a good day. Miss all you folks and even my Colbert Conservative misses you. Take care and keep Detroit vital and growing.
