The Exchange
A new 16-story building in Greektown with upscale apartments and condos is nearing completion and will welcome its first residents this summer.

The 165-unit development, known as The Exchange, is being built through a novel topdown construction method involving LIFTbuild technology in which floorplates are constructed at ground level, then hoisted up concrete and steel “spines” and locked into place.

The building is the first in Michigan to be constructed this way.

Two of the three planned buildings in the new Brush Watson apartments in Detroit's Brush Park neighborhood are on pace to be completed in the first half of the year, with the first residents moving in by this spring.

There would be 124 total units in those initial two buildings, with 176 more once the third building is completed later.

Detroit Food Commons
Detroit will gain a new full-service grocery store later this year with the anticipated opening of the Detroit Food Commons, 8324 Woodward in the North End, at the corner of Euclid Street.

The project broke ground last year and is on pace to finish in August and open in October.
