Ever get the feeling that one by one the lights are coming back on downtown? A couple of days ago it was announced the the historic Caucus Club was reopening. Like the nearby London Chop House, also shuttered then reopened in 2012, it was a famous watering hole of the wheelers and dealers of the old financial district.

The new 155 seat restaurant will be a mix of new and old including a rebuilt stage where Barbra Streisand famously got her start as a lounge singer in 1961. The original piano was sold, so a vintage Baldwin piano from 1952, the year the original Caucus Club opened as a spin-off of the London Chop House across the street, has been obtained.
