Got to get the tax and insurance rates down before young professionals will move in en masse...

...before that happens, you've got to lower the crime rate...

...but how do you lower the crime rate in Detroit?

That is the million dollar question. Whoever figures it out will be able to run for mayor, governor, or even President with great success. If you can fix Detroit, you can fix anything, anywhere.

Look to your strenghts. An educated populast. An experienced workforce.Offer affordable housing. Give tax incentives to attract businesses. Build it and they will come!
Look at me. Returning to the area after being away for 30 yrs. Not to Detroit proper but 6 miles away. At 61 yrs old job prospects are poor to say the least having been a realtor for 29 yrs and prior to that worked for the City of Detroit.
You have to give to get. Give away the farm in incentives for businesses to relocate there. In 5-10 yrs you would reap all the benefits. And by giving away the farm, you really are giving up notjing for you had nothing to give. Every little bit helps. See you in July. Cant wait to get involved in recreating Detroit!
