Join Detroit Bikes for a new bike tour: Motor City Muralism. Beginning and ending at the Detroit Institute of Arts, participants will explore murals throughout the city of Detroit and be invited to a special tour of the Diego Rivera murals at the DIA.

The course will feature a tour from artist Halima Cassells [[Detroit Mural Factory) of "American Beauty" in Tech Town. We’ll also travel through various neighborhoods [[Midtown, Woodbridge and MexicanTown) to see works by: Katie Craig, Phillip Lauri, Carl Oxley, Marianne Audrey Burroughs, Jennifer Quigley, Juan Carlos Hearn, Dasic Fernandez, Hubert Massey, Vito Valdez, Jerome Ferretti, and Katie Yamasaki among others.

We’ll stop for pastries [[or tamales) at La Gloria Bakery in Mexicantown and will conclude at the Detroit Institute of Arts where participants will be invited to a docent-led tour of Diego Rivera's world-renowned Detroit Industry frescos followed by lunch at the Café DIA.
