Some west and east riverfront plans I came across, do anyone know anything about these projects? Nice though..

Concepts indicated to be located near Ambassador Bridge and St.Aubin Park near Chene...?
The first one is the UAW-GM Center for Human Resources http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...,0.008256&z=18
There have been so many plans for the riverfront, east and west, but they almost never materialize for one reason or another. Frankly, the development in the first pic looks lousy to me. I'd much rather see the riverfront develop the way it is in San Antonio- very walkable, cozy little shops, bars and restaurants, etc. Actually, I'd be even happier if the riverfront was a gritty bar district that had some industrial lofts and tucked away little hole-in-the-walls to have a whiskey at and listen to good tunes. Oh, wait... we already HAD that.
Who owns that land, and are there any plans at all for it? It's criminal that the East Riverfront district was decimated and no new developments have occurred.
The first image basically already exists. The Bing birds eye imagery is a few years out of date but you can get the idea:

The third one down looks a lot like the area between the RenCen plaza and Rivard Plaza once it's complete with separate walking and wheel paths. The last image is clearly along Atwater, probably in the Chene Park area.
The second image would lead you to believe that's in the are of Detroit Marine Terminals....which, even if it were closed, demolished, re mediated, and turned into green space, would be about the worst place in the city to set up a Cruise Ship dock, except maybe for the old Rouge Riverbed at Zug Island.....so I can't understand that rendering.
Looks like a nice location for the Aquarama to dock
The Aquarama today

I believe the Aquarama was towed to Turkey for scrap last year.
I'm not sure if this is accurate or not, but Mayor Archer and the city of Detroit bought up a lot of that east riverfront land when it was trying to cluster the casinos there back in the late 90's early 2000's. I'm not sure if the city still owns the land or if it was sold off, but I seem to remember the city having their hands on a good amount of property over there.
I would not be surprise if some of the land were sold off during the Kilpatrick administration. Does anyone knows where Conner Creek walking trail began and where I could get to it?
Much of the 42 acres that the city got [[that the Casinos paid for) became the nucleus of Tricentennial [[Milliken) State Park.I'm not sure if this is accurate or not, but Mayor Archer and the city of Detroit bought up a lot of that east riverfront land when it was trying to cluster the casinos there back in the late 90's early 2000's.
