Japan holds the second largest number of U.S. Treasury Bonds, [[2nd. only to China) so I think it might be in our interest to at least appear to be helping. If they decide to sell off a large number of bonds, we would be very sad, collectively as a country.
I don't think we need to be sending ANY cash to Japan... perhaps other humanitarian aid... such as "sniffing" dogs, search and rescue folks, if need be bottled water, and supplies, etc.
I doubt that they would want blood donations... they would likely refuse it... they likely don't want to taint their pure bloodlines with foreign blood. [[no joke)
But I think they already have enough of our cash....

We are doing that. I don't know how much we can afford to help them either. What about China? They can send cash.
If the U.S. help Haiti, I'm sure we can help the Japanese.
Can you call compare humanitarian aid with Japan and Haiti?
Haiti: poor, mostly black and no one is rich.
Japan: rich mostly black haired people and everyone is rich [[ with spirits)
