Regarding "when will Obama treat this like a real war": Hartman pulls out a photo of Reagan. He makes a good point about Reagan empowering Al Queda to fight a proxy war with Russia but the question was about the here and now and ISIS. It was Hillary, as SOS, and Obama who helped empower IS with their ridiculous policy of trying to topple Assad. Assad had done nothing to the US. There was no legal basis and almost no practical basis for widening the Syrian civil war by providing weapons to "moderate" rebels who almost consistently handed their weapons over to or became part of IS. Key point: It wasn't Reagan or even Bush who did that. It was Obama.
Republicans supported Obama in greater numbers than Democrats in providing $500M of weapons to these moderates. I'm not blaming this all on Obama. That was the only official congressional support I'm aware of for all the weapons that tended to flow from US>moderates>IS.
Assad had been our most potent regional ally against IS until he was bogged down fighting US supplied moderates. Putin used the chaos to elbow into the Middle-east and has now even established an military alliance with France against IS. For some reason, the US bombing of IS has been somewhat impotent although it has scored some hits. Why, for instance, is Anonymous having to declare cyber war on IS when the US government has failed to do so? it seems like Obama doesn't have his heart in this fight. Instead, he invites refugees, he had a hand in inadvertently creating, to come live here. A better solution would be to back off on Assad so all countries could more effectively pursue IS.
