Just so you guys know, the entire region [[SE MIchigan) is under a Winter Storm watch from tomorrow afternoon through Monday afternoon.

It's for snow & ice, but the emphasis will be on ice. The far northern suburbs through the Tri Cities and Thumb could see 6-10+" of mostly snow with some ice [[0.10" or less) while the rest of the area sees 2-4" of snow folllowed by 1/4" to 1/2" of ice.

So stay safe and remember to purchase any emergency supplies you may need and practice your emergency procedures, as power outages are probable and the roads will likely be trecherous.

The last significant ice storm Detroit had was in 2003, which wasn't as bad then because the warmer lake waters keep the ground temperatures above freezing. So I know many people in the area don't know or remember how to handle this much accumulating ice.at once.
