If it's the place I'm thinking of, I believe the building housed a lumber yard. Not completely sure though.

Nice Thanks I did a search and came up with this ,I guess the birds eye view on the map is a bit old . http://www.detroitfunk.com/?p=4094 no relation it was just the first one to pop up in the search
The building header above the doors is engraved 1905.
I read elsewhere that the Packard plant had a school and department store and hotel when it was built but when I do a street view I really cannot see where these would have been located.
With the plant itself opening in 1903 would or could this then be the school that they are referring to?
