Golly, looks like we found a testy one Don't ever be so assuming as to think you know what others have done for Detroit. You have no idea as to my history or my family's and our contributions. So keep the snide comments about "coming down to stay at the Book in December" to yourself and try to emulate your own comment about contributing to the conversation.

"Hey Stinkbug it's obvious you won't spend any money to stay at places like the Book so leave it up to us that do come in and spend the money to support such a great renovation."
    Who was making assumptions?

I like it here, a lot in fact. Some of us are just more quick to point out that it isn't all cupcakes and jesus juice and we have some serious dysfunctionality on our hands here that casinos and hotels just can't solve.

That's a lot different than your previous post. I will be the first to agree that it's not all 'cupcakes and jesus juice'. However, it's important to recognize the contributors who don't live here and that they are just as important as those who live here.

So don't speak for me, because I don't feel the same way you do. I think everyone who spends money here and works here regardless of where they live keep this city alive, as well as those of us who live here. It's a joint effort, and I feel confident saying that there are quite a few people who don't live here that care about the city just as much as someone like myself. It's beneficial for everyone in the region if Detroit does well, and it's not always feasible for those people to live here for whatever reason, so I'm sure they contribute in whatever way they can....like coming here and staying at the Book Cadillac.

I think it's a slap in the face to those people when you say only those who live and work here are the ones that keep the city alive. It's simply not true.
