because we always end up at "loggerheads"?
sorry, had to do it.
I love sea turtles, and regularly donate to the Turtle Hospital

Eriedearie, I 've been wondering the same thing ever since I posted an informative post with a link directly to the Turtle Hospital. Not one person responded to that post because the thread got hijacked by by the same ol' garbage. Someone gave a little "in jest" poke at CCBatson and he responded. Then it just stayed off topic with the back and forth arguing about the political views of a few posters.
I'm reposting the link here because the link in the post above this isn't working.

Obviously I'm relatively new here and was happy to be able to contribute my personal experience with the Turtle Hospital, but it is very discouraging to have this kind of a thread ruined by those who can't stop themselves from arguing about the same ideas over and over and over again.
Being compassionate is a fine way to be when it comes to helping the planet's endangered animals. Can we please keep the bile out of a subject such as this one?
I will take a mea culpa on that one
I have donated to the turtle hospital since the first time i saw a special on them. [[i do the same with a couple of amphibian centers)
If it had, I would expect it would have been wearing a tag from the previous visit. Neither the story nor the video mentioned whether or not a tag was found. They didn't mention whether or not they thought it had returned from a previous visit. Inquiring minds want to know!
It could have been a one-in-a-million coincidence too.
In my first post on this thread I stated that the workers tag all the turtles they have treated before they release them, so this turtle would not have been one they had seen before. We learned this on our visit to the Turtle Hospital a few months ago. Also, I posted the link to the Turtle Hospital twice where anyone can read all about what they do there to care for the turtles. Seems all the unnecessary political garbage keeps people from following the subject of the thread.
ANy of the examples that I posted achieve the supposed ideal of "self governance"?? Not a one. Almost a nice try SM.
Thanks for the link to the turtle hospital. I've heard about it in the past, but it was nice to read about what they do there. I will visit next time I'm in the keys. Now for some turtle humor. A turtle got mugged by a gang of snails. The Police officer asked the turtle to describe the incident and the turtle said he didn't remember much because it all happened so fast.
Once again SM...you almost get it. Too bad this isn't a game of horseshoes where "almost" matters.
Quit hijacking threads, Bats, or we'll have Obama send the Seals out
I saw the clip about the turtle wetsuit. I still really don't understand how the poor critter can steer
Actually, the former participant [[SM) did the hijacking, I just responded.
Oops, it was Bearinbox just above my response to him that took the train off the tracks, not SM...sorry.
