Looking for any info that may remain from 1918 undertaker - F. A. Pinkos. My aunt died 11-8-1917 and was buried at Woodmere Cemetery. Pinkos was listed as undertaker in cemetery records. Have been unable to find death record for her.

Try here. There's a collection for death records up to 1920 in the Collections box

Frank A. Pinkos undertaker shows in the 1928 Detroit city directory as being at 3224 Junction, which is today a parking lot across the street from St. Hedwig's R.C. church. He also shows as having a combination furniture store and undertaking business at 8700 W. Jefferson, which would be somewhere near Delray but I must say appears to be a mystery address [[it seems to be somewhere in the middle of the Rouge River).
For several decades there was a Pinkos & Szwapa funeral home just a couple of buildings south of St. Hedwig's at 3311 Junction. That building is still standing, although the funeral home is gone. St. Hedwig's is still open, so if your aunt was Catholic you should probably check there.
So what is her name? DOB? There are people here that could help.
My thanks to all who posted. You were a great help. I have searched for 6 years for a record of her. She died at age 3 of polio. Finally found the cemetery and now thanks to your help, I have a death record. Some of these records are so difficult because you have to have exact spelling, and with foreign [[Hungarian and Czechoslovakian) names the spelling often gets changed. Finally found her grave by searching by first and last initial only. There are a lot of people buried at Woodmere with first initial E and last initial S!!!!
My grandparents lived on Foot St. in Oakwood from 1912 [[when they married) until 1919. Last name was Supak.
Thanks again!!!!!!!!
Merry Christmas dzoulek... http://seekingmichigan.cdmhost.com/s...6CISOSTART%3D1
Hi,
Are you still looking for information on Frank A. Pinkos undertaker? He is also mentioned on my great-great-grandfather's death certificate and I am trying to get some information on him as well. I have the attached photograph from my g-g-grandfater's funeral taken on April 3rd 1920. I suspect that Mr. Pinkos is the gentleman in the centre holding the coffin lid but I don't have it confirmed. Also, I would like to know what is the building where the funeral took place. It might be a front of Mr. Pinkos' Funeral Home on W. Jefferson but the building had been demolished so it would be great if someone had a picture of his Funeral Home.
Doing a Google search for "Frank A. Pinkos Michigan", I came up with the following:
https://www.ancestry.com/1940-census...-Pinkos_2xsdl0
https://www.myheritage.com/names/frank_pinkos
http://www.archives.com/1940-census/...s-mi-122783358
The Ancestry and My Heritage sites can probably be opened with all the dates and places showing at any Latter Day Saints free, open to anyone, family research center. Those places have accounts with Ancestry and My Heritage. Locations: https://www.familysearch.org/locations/
One of the Ancestry.com links, 1940 census, said Frank Pinkos did auto repair so there might be more than one Frank Pinkos or he changed occupations.
