Mike Illitch passes on Pistons?

I heard something on the radio today, just caught the end of it, that Illitch has withdrew his bid on the Detroit Pistons because Mrs Davidson won't come down on her 450 million dollar asking price and Mr Illitch also found some discrepencies with the finances of the whole empire. Anyone else hear anything to that effect? If so, please comment.
