West Village does have very nice townhouses.
8040-8060 Saint Paul built in 1916-designed by Oscar Gottesleban.
P69rrh51 posted a picture of 31 Arden Park by Richard Marr in post #175 earlier in this thread.
The house was built for Dr. Albert H. Steinbrecher. Here's how it looked in 1916. I have not yet been in it; but judging from the 1st floor plan [[notice the oval foyer), it seems very nicely laid out.
Other detroit architects
3250 Sherbourne built in 1929-William Kapp. His personal home.
1559 Atkinson built in 1925-J. Ivan Dise
1460 Wellesley built in 1927-J. Ivan Dise
1860 Strathcona built in 1921-J.H. Gustav Steffens
425 East Kirby built in 1916-William S. Joy
2474 Seminole built in 1922-Stanton & Crombie
19555 Roslyn Built in 1924-Hiliary H. Micou Although Micou is a builder the homes he built in Grosse Pointe are very popular, even with the mortgage meltdown very few of them have exchanged hands. This is the only home in Detroit that I have been able to find.
Looks like the everyone likes the interior drawings.
1485 Burns built in 1910-Bernard C. Wetzell
790 Seminole built in 1905-Dietz & Ward
1120 Seminole built in 1906-Dietz & Ward
3005 Iroquois built in 1925-Beckett & Akitt
2508 Iroquois built in 1927-Beckett & Akitt
1169 West Boston Boulevard built in 1917-Christian Brandt
4130 Trumbull built in 1889-George Depew
4202 Trumbull built in 1890-George Depew
3985 Trumbull built in 1891-George Depew
Here's another beauty by J. Ivan Dise. The house was designed for Lyford Moore. It's on the SW corner of LaSalle Blvd. and LaSalle Gardens South.
And here's it's view of LaSalle Gardens Park.
More Kahn homes.
1040 Iroquios built in 1906
1032 Seminloe built in 1906
1453 Iroquois built in 1909
610 Longfellow built in 1910
1466 Seminloe built in 1912
1507 Iroquios built in 1914
Entrance Gate to Beverly Road at Lakeshore built in 1914 Beverly Road Historic District Grosse Pointe Farms. Sometimes I think some of the historic districts include Kahn just to enhance their application. Beverly Road Historic District always has Kahn listed on the top of the list and this is the only work he did in the district.
Well, I have a PDF of George Mason's work, yet don't know how to attach it on here. It is 50 pages long...I guess if you want a copy, message me on here and I will send it via email.
It's a cool place, but 39,000 sq'? Really?
I'd much prefer this one, taken by southofbloor on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/southof...@N00/lightbox/
Although it's a shell inside, it's retained enough of its original character to be a really, really stylin' place...and I love me a project.

Great to see the plans of these buildings - thanks for posting! Interesting passage extending back to the garage - an open trellis maybe?P69rrh51 posted a picture of 31 Arden Park by Richard Marr in post #175 earlier in this thread.

Another view of the Stephens home on Woodward.
Think I'll stick with my house built in 1909 in Islandview. Beautiful stained glass throughout, pocket doors, butler pantry built in woodwork cabinates, tiling and window seats throughout.
The odd thing is each room used different wood, oak, maple mahogony etc
Actually not sure if its "arts & crafts" or tudor rivival. I lean to arts and crafts because of the beautiful interior appointments, extended eaves with decorative supports, the exterior is a combination of brick, stucco, wood and a extended roofed porch, the third floor has 3 porticos. The original roof was slate.
