Does anyone have a clue? It has to be one of the prime locations in town.

The city was "marketing" it jointly with the Ilitch owned United Artists Theatre back around 2006. In 2007 the banners advertising a "Premier Development Opportunity" disappeared off the UA around the same time the building received a new roof. No word of anything since, although rumors continue to circulate about a possible Quicken rehab of the UA, which would likely include the surrounding area, as Dan Gilbert's original hope was to incorporate residential, retail and entertainment aspects into a Quicken headquarters. The UA and surrounding area is ripe for entertainment development with so much available land nearby, including the Statler. Like everything else downtown, however, any possibility of that came to a screeching halt with the economic downturn.
