Suddenly I turned around and she was standin’ there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
“Come in,” she said, “I’ll give you shelter from the storm”
Suddenly I turned around and she was standin’ there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
“Come in,” she said, “I’ll give you shelter from the storm”
LP - Into The Wild You may have heard a portion of this tune by LP [[her name's initials ) on a Citi credit card commercial
Sympathy - Rare Bird - 1970.....and here we are over 40 years later in the same boat.
And when you climb into your bed tonight
And when you lock and bolt the door
Just think of those out in the cold and dark
'cause there's not enough love to go round.
And sympathy is what we need my friend
And sympathy is what we need
And sympathy is what we need my friend
'cause there's not enough love to go round
No there's not enough love to go round.
Now half the world hates the other half
And half the world has all the food
And half the world lies down and cries: "We starves,
'cause there's not enough love to go round.
And sympathy is what we need my friend
And sympathy is what we need
And sympathy is what we need my friend
'cause there's not enough love to go round
No there's not enough love to go round.

Country songs - Lady Antebellum album!
The Last Waltz was a concert by the rock group The Band, held on American Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1976, at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. The Last Waltz was advertised as the end of The Band's illustrious touring career,[1] and the concert saw The Band joined by more than a dozen special guests, including Paul Butterfield, Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Ronnie Hawkins, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Ringo Starr, Muddy Waters, Ronnie Wood, Bobby Charles and Neil Young.
The event was filmed by director Martin Scorsese and made into a documentary of the same name, released in 1978. The film features concert performances, scenes shot on a studio soundstage and interviews by Scorsese with members of The Band. A triple-LP soundtrack recording, produced by Rob Fraboni, was issued in 1978. The film was released on DVD in 2002 as was a four-CD box set of the concert and related studio recordings.

Listening to "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol.
NOT Jazz.
[[10 char)
But Roq, jazz is good. It's good for you. Your adamant [[and, I might say, aggressively declared) refusal to hurl yourself, as a person wishing to speedily escape Mississippi might hurl themselves into the Mississippi River hoping to wash up in Florida, into the rewarding embrace of jazz is depriving you of a rich musical experience that, in the right hands, somehow just keeps on giving while never giving in the same way twice.
Hey!! I'm talkin' ta you!! Wake up!! Hey!!
Goddamit.
Miles Davis sucks
I find the shameless trumpeting [[hah!! see what I did, there?) of your stunningly barbaric tastes in music to be curiously stimulating.
Or something.

And here's one to go along with the Hipster thread. "Hipster Boy" by Robbie Fulks. [[remake of "Hippie Boy" by the Flying Burrito Brothers.)

I could really use some Crimson right now...time to finally upload my In the Court of the Crimson King into iTunes. For some reason, I programmed in a string of James Taylor tunes to kick off my all-nighter on the eve of the Kresge Foundation deadline. Not so sure he's going to keep me awake and edgy enough.
Where did I put those old CDs?!
DAMN! Couldn't find it...will have to settle for Robbie Robertson's self-titled album, the Mobile Fidelty remaster, of course...then seque into a bit o' Little Feat 'Time Loves a Hero'. That should just about do it.
Cheers!
Little Feat?

That didn't take long...
...now we're onto Lisboa "The Detroit Mining Disaster" [[and maybe the whole album).

Next up, Michael Franti "Sounds of Sunshine".
I'm aiming for dawn...wanna hear it.
I don't know why I never realized there was a hidden track on that Lisboa CD...I should've questioned a sixteen and a half-minute song. Nice cruisin' music...
Through the Franti...raised now to Michael Hedges [[RIP, guitar pyro).
Torched.

I'm thinking that you're into Little Feat more than I am, but I liked 'em. Full Disclosure: The only Little Feat LP I had was Feats Don't Fail Me Now, the one "Oh, Atlanta" is from.
Yet another fine example of how, back then, there were lots of good bands that were difficult to categorize. The Band was another.
I assume that may still be the case, but today's FM stations are so into programming for narrowed, "niche" listenerships, a band like Little Feat would just about have to forget about getting air-play and hope for the best.
What am I talking about?!!? Like anybody looks to the FM dial for anything, anymore.
I guess I should just shuffle off into the sunset; the ol' Philco needs new tubes, and my Victrola don't work 'cause the vandals took the handle.
