I've talked to a realtor who said that people who've been foreclosed on their homes can be very vindictive. Such as leave a water tap on [[with the drains plugged)... or in one case leaving several containers of spoiled milk open to curdle... house reeked to high heaven.

My thanks to all for sharing your stories. Here's an update. Finally got in touch with property owner...he filed a police report yesterday. Renter returned this morning with yet another unknown vehicle to strip out whatever he had "purchased". Called owner to let him know what was going on, he in turn called police, this was around 6:00p.m. today. Several neighbors also called the police. Another neighbor wrote down the license plate numbers,, and approached the renter, told them police were on the way and they had no right to strip the property. Renter immediately left the premises, along with the "buyers" of the assets inside the property. Police came about 10:00p.m. we told them what was going on during the last week or so. They told us the next time we call 911; share this info with the operator. Tonight, I posted signs on the property saying the property was under neighborhood surveillance and video will be taken and license plates will be taken down. Neighbors are organizing a meeting to develop a continued course of action for all vacant homes on the block. We will continue to monitor activity on the property and will continue to call police as needed. Police response time is very disheartning and discouraging, but we will not give up; we will fight for our neighborhood. Will keep everyone posted on final outcome. Thanks again for all the wonderful advice!

Great news! Just goes to show what a set of determined neighbors can accomplish!! Most crime thrives in the city due to the "not my business", "no snitchin'" response accompanied by lack of police response. Once these 'scrappers' saw the SOP was not allowed they had to 'step-off' with their actions.
