not much different than Falwell's Moral Majority, Pat Robertson's groups, any of the "family...whatever" groups or "The Family" that runs the republican party and the blue dogs

Religionists used to be known for book burnings. Nowadays they just censor them or write their own versions.

Agreed that flying planes into buildings and burning books are both negative activities but, c'mon, killing thousand of people cannot be equated with burning books which can easily be reprinted. A better equation might be if you could somehow say this was a nominally but unofficially Christian nation which has killed even more thousands of Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This isn't the first time Christian fanatics in this country have burned sacred items.

Both groups are intolerant of anyone who looks, speaks, acts, thinks, believes, or smells different than them. No difference, really.

And why is that? The teaching of intolerance by religious fundamentalists.

Thousands of people in several wars have died to protect one sheet of paper that I can think of.

Burning books is about more than lighting bound pieces of paper on fire.
